The Swiss company Prema contacted me to add a coin counting and verification module to their product SelfCashpro. I designed the SelfCashpro when I worked for ARCA and at that time was called MyTeller (you can find here some info about it).
The client's request was to create a single device by combining two different machines (one handling coins and the other handling banknotes) into one device, merging the lines and integrating the functionalities so that the different technological origins of the devices would not be perceived.
The starting point was based on ergonomic and human-machine interaction analyses, studies useful for defining functional limits and advantages that allowed for the development of a design that is not only attractive but also easily usable by all users, with particular attention to the needs of the disabled.
The design of the Self Cashpro (also known as MyTeller) is highly appreciated by banks because it creates an island where their customers can operate safely by depositing or withdrawing money. Its design integrates perfectly into bank branches without altering them or requiring particular modifications.
Furthermore, during the phases of redefining the overall aesthetic line, I was asked, in collaboration with the R&D department, to completely redesign the coin input device, aiming to make it more intuitive to use, more economical, more functional, and ultimately eliminating any possibility of jamming.
